Q&A with Seth “The Zog” Herzog
by Sean McManus
A venerable, go-to comedy cult hero scene stealer on 30 Rock, Chappelle's Show, Role Models and many a Late Night with Jimmy Fallon sketch (where he also warms up the audience), Seth “The Zog” Herzog will whip you in a laugh-out-loud frenzy. Seth "THE ZOG" Herzog hits Philly May 21st!

Seth Herzog (aka "The Zog") is a very popular New York comedian and actor. Lately, he's been getting a lot of buzz for his reoccurring characters on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" (ie: "Captain Zog," "The Dude Spooner," and often dancing in underwear and suspenders). You may know him from his many years as a pop culture pundit on VH1's "Best Week Ever" and many other "40 Greatest..." shows, or from his scene stealing roles in such films, as "Role Models," "Prime," "The Baxter," "The Ten," "Safe Men," or "In the Weeds." He's also had a few good turns on the small screen with roles on Comedy Central's "Chappelle Show" & "Stella," CBS' "Love Monkey," & E!'s "Number 1 Single." He was recently noted in Heeb Magazine's "Heeb 100," a listing of 100 influential young Jewish artists/performers.

In the New York comedy scene, Seth is a much respected and longtime denizen of the NY's downtown alt scene. He often performs in such venues as The Slipper Room, UCB, Rififi, Fez as well as being a fixture at clubs like Caroline's and Comix too. In addition, Seth produces and hosts a weekly comedy show every Tuesday night called "Sweet" on the Lower East Side at bar called Ella. A regular feature of the show is a ten-minute set called "What's On My Mom's Mind," during which he interviews his mother.

Besides being an active performer, Seth was the subject of the short documenary film called, "Zog's Place." Detailing his life in his former NY apartment that was 115 square ft.

Seth is perhaps best known for his "Wonder Woman" routine, during which he wears a Wonder Woman costume and does a dance while lip-synching to the Wonder Woman theme song.
In April 2008, Seth toured Kuwait performing for the U.S. troops.

Also, if you're in NY and you can see Seth as the audience warm-up comedian for "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" as well.
